About this service
ProPress is a mechanically pressed fitting system that connects copper, stainless, and carbon-steel pipe without solder, flux, or open flame. For commercial work — hospitals, labs, occupied office towers, food production, or anything with a hot-work permit — that's the whole story: you skip the fire watch, the tenant evacuation, and the smoke-detector isolation.
We use Ridgid ProPress and MegaPress tooling for jobs from 1/2" through 4", including domestic water, hydronic, compressed air, and low-pressure gas (MegaPressG). Every joint is pressed with certified tooling and torque-verified, and the joints are typically ready for pressure testing in minutes instead of the hours needed for solder to cool.
For property managers and GCs, ProPress also translates to shorter shutdown windows: we can install, isolate, and re-pressurize a domestic branch during a lunch-hour window instead of a full building shutdown.

Yes — ProPress and MegaPress fittings are UPC/IAPMO listed and accepted by California code for the applicable pipe sizes and pressures. We install to the manufacturer's specifications every time.
For the listed applications, yes — they're rated for the same pressures and temperatures. The EPDM sealing element carries the water tightness, and the mechanical press carries the pull-out load.
For low-pressure gas we use MegaPressG, which is listed for gas service. It has to be sized and pressure-rated to the specific application — we'll confirm during the estimate.
Material cost is slightly higher; labor and total project cost are usually lower once you factor in shutdown windows, fire watches, and building disruption. For occupied commercial it's almost always the better total.
