Water Pressure Regulators

Pounding pipes, blown supply lines, and fixtures that fail early \u2014 most of it traces back to a PRV that's given up.

Water Pressure Regulators
Overview

About this service

San Diego's municipal water pressure can run 80–120 PSI in some South Bay neighborhoods. Anything over 80 PSI is a code violation and starts wearing out valves, angle stops, ice-maker lines, and washing-machine hoses years before their time.

The fix is a pressure reducing valve — a PRV — installed right after your main shut-off. If you already have one and it's more than 10–15 years old, it's likely stuck open or drifting high. We test with a gauge, replace the assembly, and set it to a healthy 60–65 PSI.

While we're there we'll check the thermal expansion tank on your water heater — high pressure plus no expansion capacity is a common cause of T&P drips.
